What is it?
Project Prometheus is an educational escape room experience designed to make learning about Artificial Intelligence (AI) active, social, and memorable. Participants explore AI concepts through immersive storytelling, hands-on puzzles, ethical dilemmas, and guided reflection. The game transforms abstract ideas—such as the EU AI Act, model risks, explainability, and human oversight—into concrete experiences.
The Storyline
You enter a world shaped by tension between two opposing forces:
Max Cornelisse — a rebellious innovator who champions creativity, experimentation, and pushing AI beyond the limits.
Dr. Sabine Charter — a strict compliance expert dedicated to ethics, accountability, and safeguarding society through rigorous EU AI Act enforcement.
Your mission: follow the clues, solve the challenges, uncover hidden motives, and choose your allegiance. Each puzzle reveals a new layer of AI understanding—technical, ethical, and regulatory.
The Science Behind It
Experiential Learning (Kolb, 1984) Learning becomes more durable when tied to direct experience. The escape room integrates action, reflection, and conceptualization.
Dual Coding Theory (Paivio, 1971) By combining narrative, visuals, physical artifacts, and verbal reasoning, the game strengthens memory through multiple cognitive channels.
