Description

Easy Functional Sizing (EFS) is the next generation of Functional Size Measurement (FSM), designed to provide a simple, practical and standardized approach for measuring business functionality.

Based on the upcoming ISO/IEC DIS 25986 standard and aligned with the established Nesma Functional Size Measurement method (ISO/IEC 24570), EFS enables organizations to objectively determine the functional size of software without being influenced by technology, implementation choices or development effort.

The course explains how Function Points provide a common language between business and IT, enabling better estimation, benchmarking, portfolio management and output-based contracting. Participants learn how EFS complements Agile methodologies by combining Function Points for business value measurement with Story Points for team planning.

During the training participants learn the EFS counting principles, classify user functions into Logical Files, Input Functions and Output Functions, apply official counting guidelines, determine both product and project size and measure software maintenance using Enhancement Function Points (EFP).

Audience Profile

Professionals involved in software development, software estimation, Agile delivery and software governance, including Product Owners, business analysts, functional analysts, project managers, programme managers, software suppliers and clients involved in output-based contracting.
