Nico Jansen
Manager Kenniscentrum en trainer/consultant
My name is Nico Jansen; I live in Minderhout, Belgium, together with my wife.
My passion is software development. It all started in high school, where I programmed on the calculator (in ‘basic’, I believe). After my HBO education, I started as a .NET and Java developer here at Info Support. Later, I specialized in web development. My primary expertise is in JavaScript/TypeScript and automated testing.
I’ve always loved explaining complex solutions to my colleagues. There is a thrill in making others understand how something works by making it simple. That’s why I love being a teacher here at the Knowledge center.
I’m also an active contributor to open-source projects—namely Stryker, the mutation testing framework. Here, I can combine my love for the JavaScript ecosystem with my passion for automated testing. It is also a great teaching tool, as it helps you to learn to write and maintain great tests.
I like to practice endurance sports and go hiking in my spare time.
